My Impressions: Brutal terrorist, betrayal, facing the truth, hard hitting.
Patrick Dunn aka Rick – Lt. in Home Land Security Counterintelligence unit
Claire Redfield - US intelligence analyst with terrorist connection.
Al Thawadi – The Master, a diabolical Muslim terrorist
The Red Fortress is an excellent story with great characters. The main terrorist, Al Thawadi, has a fresh, intelligent but evil personality and the plot flows smoothly with many surprises. The in-depth characterization of the three main characters carries the story.
Rick Dunn is a professional terrorist hunter who enjoys his job. He dislikes his contact in the White House with good reason. His personal demons are the price he pays for his mental involvement and distractions because of his job.
Claire Redfield is the daughter of a US soldier and an Egyptian woman. They were separated and their child was sold by her grandparents to terrorist where she was trained. She came to the US to live with her father and was assigned to a terrorist sleeper cell. Fifteen years later she is called upon to activate.
The story takes the reader from Qatar to Dubai to Florida, New York and South America. If you like the story, the author is working on a follow up story.
I highly recommend The Red Fortress to fans of international terrorist plots.
The editing is almost impeccable with only a few minor errors. Sentence structure and character development are very good.
Research of foreign cities and the US government agencies is evident.
The writing style is crisp and intense.
