Sergeant Andy Bridger is in a special unit of the British Army serving in Bosnia.
Bridger is the ultimate warrior's warrior. He is the bad assed Special Forces soldier all military units long to have. His only down fall is his mouth when talking to his superior officers. He can't resist ignoring stupid orders in order to complete a mission that would otherwise fail. Of course, in the field he knows exactly what he is doing in spite of the opinions of the drones at the top of the food chain who want complete control.
The plot of A Soldier First is action packed and intense. The fight scenes are well thought out and choreographed smartly.
When weapons of mass destruction are stolen from a Russian facility, Andy's unit is sent to find the people responsible for the theft. That's when the meat of the story kicks into high gear and the action becomes nonstop.
There is some cursing in the story but it's not excessive.
Some of the violent, bloody scenes will turn some readers with weak stomachs off.
The lack of editing in this story is atrocious. With professional grade editing it would receive a five star rating. For those readers who abhor poor editing and sentence structure the story would be rated three stars.
I enjoyed the story and highly recommend it for those fans of Military Thriller and Action and Adventure genres.
