Rose Brashear is an anthropologist on a field trip to Yellowstone Park to do research for a paper.
Savio Mendes is a man of mystery. Rose learns he is the epitome of the Hollywood super agent.
On Rose's first day in the park she stops to visit on of the many hot water pits and discovers a body laying at the edge of the pool. Her find sets in motion events that bring her and Savio together. Unknown to her, Savio is involved with a man producing methamphetamine in a nearby cave.
Unfortunately Ambushing the Vigilante relies on romance far more than its listed genres of Mystery, Suspense and Thriller. Rose and Savio spend page after page groping and kissing like over sexed teens. The criminal plot was simple, but it was overwhelmed by the couple's romantic antics. In a short time their interactions seemed ridiculous and then silly.
Dialog in some three party conversations was unclear as to which party was speaking.
The story's editing is good with only occasional, minor errors.
Ambushing the Vigilante is a light piece of fluff that should appeal more to romance fans than to serious crime story readers.
