Genre: Vigilante justice crime thriller

Steve McKuen and his pal Dennis have shady backgrounds where drugs were involved. They've each made lots of enemies over the years, and that makes it almost impossible to decide where their latest threats are coming from.
A silver necklace with precious stones is at the center of this mystery thriller. A small piece of paper with numbers and letters on it is found in the locket hanging from the necklace. They believe it is the key to a small fortune hidden by a dead criminal. Someone else has a similar small piece of paper and needs the one Steve has.
McKuen's Revenge is full of intense conflict, off the wall characters and action.
This is part one of a five part story.
The editing, character development, plot, and continuity are good.
The problems involve lack of breaks between some scenes, internal thoughts given as narrative instead of being in italics, and the arrangement of one character's dialog having narrative associated with a second character tacked on the end of it. Then the second character's dialog follows on the next line. It's highly confusing.
A thorough edit would garner this story a 5.0 rating.
I enjoyed the read and recommend it.
